Variety: 100% Merlot
Region: Margaret River
Vintage: 2006
Colour: Vibrant red with hints of purple
Aroma: Lively cherry and raspberry, strong primary fruit characters. Highly aromatic.
Palate: Fresh blackberry and plum, even and well balanced. Good tannin structure with a nice soft finish.
Winemaking: Each parcel of fruit is gently crushed into small open fermenters with traditional heading down boards where fermentation is carried out under strictly controlled temperature conditions. Gentle extraction is achieved by the daily draining away of wine from the skins and then returning back over. The wine is then pressed and returned to stainless steel tanks. French oak staves used to add complexity.
Typical Analysis: 13.6% Alcohol
Food Matching: Meat dishes, pasta and cheese
